Mexican Wedding Cookies

                                        
Quantities            Ingredients
1 c.              
Butter
1/2 c.
White sugar
2 tsp.     
Vanilla extract
2 tsp.   
Water
2 c.   
Flour
1 c.
Chopped almonds
1/2 c.
Powdered sugar

Preparation Procedures:

1. In a medium bowl, combine butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla and water. 

2. Add the flour and almonds, mix and blend. 

3. Cover and chill for 3 hours.

4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

5. Shape dough into balls or crescents. Place on an unprepared cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Cook on wire racks. When cookies are cool, roll in powdered sugar. Store at room temperature in an airtight container. 

Yield 3 dozen cookies

Oven Temperature:  325 degrees, preheated
